Array It's Been Fun F.net Well, I just got the call. I'm leaving for bootcamp Wednesday for two months and a week. As much of an ass as I've been I really did enjoy the conversations and banter.
DFP: TN Epee' is yours now man, take care of it
Telkanuru: It was fun fencing you and making fun of people on f.net with you.
Inq: I think I got a full semester's worth of Beginner's Latin from reading your posts
Padawan: You are a pretty good coach but a horrible human being. I mean that.
Noodle: You have two months and a week to get your A, you've got this.
ToTD: Foil!
jessicasimpson: Thanks for the coaching
Craig: Great site, you're a pretty cool dude.
Gav: You're the heavy drinking scott I never knew. Congrats!
DE_S_T: Check your facebook
To anyone I might have missed, my bad. I just found out an hour ago and am still a little jittery. In all seriousness it's been great and I will return with a spiteful but loveable vengeance afterwards. Provided transportation works out, I will be fencing in South Carolina for awhile. CFC! Array What am I supposed to say to someone leaving for bootcamp? "Have fun" doesn't seem appropriate, and neither does "good luck."
See ya! -

Array Hey RF.
You know how to get in touch. Enjoy yourself.
Question to the board: Is there some reason why there are so many forces brats into fencing on this board? -
That Guy
Array RF - Keep in touch. Let us know where you get stationed.

Array Stay healthy, be careful and keep your footlocker locked at all times. Made that mistake once in Quantico. Yikes. -

Two months and a week sounds very short, you'll soon be with us again.
Have fun and take care, RF. See you when you return! -

Array Are you going active duty or reserve? (Or whatever the reserves are called in the Navy.)
Are you going to be enlisted or officer?
Make sure you didn't lie about anything at MEPS, because you can get medical compensation from the VA for service related health issues, but if you lied about anything it's more difficult.
In boot camp, just as anywhere else, hell is other people. Try to ignore the idiots you're lumped in with, because the training should be pretty easy for you, but they won't be able to do a lot of it, and you'll all get punished. -

Array As a "Navy Dad" with a son who has just completed his first year in the Navy, I want to wish you luck and tell you that you have made a good decision.
What did you end up choosing? Nuclear Engineer or Advanced Electronics and Computer Systems? One test is worth a thousand opinions. I'm going active duty and enlisted at the moment, after school I should be able to get into a program to finish off my degree and then go to OCS. I don't know how it works across services, but I know in the Army they're allowing people with 60 college credits have a commission (and you can get a waiver for down to 30 credits). The rub is that you can't go beyond O-2 without a degree.
I only add that because recruiters aren't going to help you, and you're too good to be enlisted.
If you're going to be an E-5 upon graduation as your said in your blog, you could always consider being a warrant officer, which is way cooler than enlisted or officer. -
