    Screwless epee tips

    Pro and cons.

    1. you need both a 6mm and 7 mm open end wrench to tighten the tip into place. The 6mmfor the barrel and the 7mm for the tip.

    2. To adjust for miniuiam travel you have to cut or use a dermal to adjust the contact springs instead of screwing the contact spring to meet the spec. By cutting the spring you take the chance of leaving it uneven. I can adjust four reg. tips in the time it takes to do one screwless tip.

    3. You can use any wire with it. But if you lose the pressure spring not any would work with it. Buy spare pressure spring.

    4. The shaft that the tip rides on seems awful thin to me and I wonder about the life of it.

This is my opioin on the screwless epee
tip. It does seem to be smooth then the others. I have installed one on our hardest epee fencer to see how it stand up to the abuse.
