Barbara Lynch is fairly well known name in both local New Jersey and on the National level. Barbara got involved in fencing over 30 years ago and continues to be a strong presence, if you've ever gone to the big table at Summer Nat's odds are you were talking to Barb. Barb has always been an advocate of junior fencers and a voice for them.
Barb was recently diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer and underwent treatment leading to a brief remission. Recently she has had to start treatments again. Despite the strain Barb continues to be involved.
We have arranged for the 1st Annual Barbara Lynch Charity RYC in NJ with funds raised going to the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition and the Lynch Family. This plans to be a great event with goodie bags including T-shirts and a commemorative patch for the fencers, a silent auction with some great items for the parents and great prizes to the top finishers.
We have also started a donation page to purchase Barb her very own lifetime membership to the USFA something she has never had. We feel with everything else she has going on remembering to send her membership fees should be the last thing on her mind.

We are also seeking to collect letters from people whom Barb has touched their lives throughout her career in fencing to create a keepsake book. If Barbara is someone who has touched your life in any way please feel free to contact us if you would like to send a letter for inclusion.
If you would like to donate services or items for the silent auction contact Darlene at
deeshellhouse@yahoo.com .
The tournament will be at the New Jersey Fencing Alliance location in Maplewood who graciously donated space on December 22-23. You can see more about it at
