    Small avatars?

For some reason I cannot get my avatar to be larger appearing on the left, I have tried many variations of this image, and it always come s up tiny.

Is the forum doing something with it when I upload it? I made sure it was below 19.5

I had a foil one, which was cool, and it filled up the space properly, but for some reason it won't do that here.

are you reading the upload avatar page?

it explicitly states "Note: The maximum size of your custom image is 50 by 50 pixels or 19.5 KB (whichever is smaller)."

Yup, I am reading that as either/or, so an image may be 85 or 100 px but 15k and still pass.

For instance, the one I have now I think is 85px wide but only like 11k (actually not sure which one I finally gave up on).

It just looks small, whereas the foil silhouette ones are 50 wide and seem to take up more space.

Its just odd. I managed a decent looking on on several other boards (at least one other vBulletin) and it coems out decent, its just not behaving for me here.

    This forum: http://forums.avault.com/member.php?u=3855

has the same restriction and is also running vbulletin. I'll change my avatar here to be the same as there so its apples to apples. Its just wierd.

    -edit-
Changed, the one there is 60x80ish. Exactly the same as the Avault one.

    -edit2-
I see what its doing, its shrinking the long dimension to 50 pixels, regardless of the original image and turning it into a GIF when you "upload" a custom one.

    No.

Having big avatars really isn't necessary. It is, however, necessary that Craig gets some funding for running this awesome site.

    Green?

    -edit-
Ahhhhhhhhhh, I am suddenly much less confused as to why some avatars are bigger.

Pardon me, I am just a little slow...
