| Lightweight Lame + Plastic Chest Guards Are any fencers or armorers seeing issues with lightweight style lames being punctured in foil when the fencer (male or female) is also using a plastic chest guard under the jacket?
I'm curious to see if there is a problem there and, if so, what commonalities there are.

| Luis Ramos, some other so cal guys Wear the man plates. Take them away and you have easily beatable fencers. They've made a science about "fencing" with those.
If a hit will register on anything else but not on those then perhaps it is simply bad form...no?

| Ah, back on topic, a fencer in our club used the man plate and the Absolute light weight lame, and it did punture over time. I believe he had it for about three months of fencing four to five days a week before he could no longer use it. He's since stopped using the man plate. |

He's an older fencer with some surgical scars for which the chest protector offered better protection. Also, he doesn't fence competitively anymore; so, it was unlikely he would have used it in a tournament for any kind of competitive advantage. |
