junior olympic qulifiers

Does anyone know how they are run? Is there a commitee that comes in for it to rank them in to the next level? I'm thinking about going to one and I wanted to know.

The Junior Olympics is not the Olympics. Rather it is an event put on each year for our younger fencers. Qualification for the Olympics is a totally different creature. The JOC Qualifiers are one of your Division required events, i.e. the Division has to put them on. Usually some individual or group (a club or the Division itself) will be designated to put them on as an event. Format, where I've been involved, is the standard pool and DE. The Division will qualify so many depending on the size of the Division. Very similar to the Summer National Qualifers.

Correction: depending on the number of people in the qualifying event.

Size of the division doesn't (directly) affect the number of qualifiers.
