Array Wiring chain question I currently have a wiring chain for a #5 blade with a pistol length tang. I need to make chains for a #5 French tang, a #2 pistol, and a #2 French. Having no other option, I've had to use my current chain for #5s with a French tang, which overbends the blade, and if the glue fails, the wire comes out in such a way that I can't put it back in.
Anyone got a list of how long the chain should be for those 4 blade lengths?
Thanks! -

Array I was thinking along those lines, but didn't know the measurements. Thanks, Tim! -

Make the chain long enough to handle the
longest blade you'd wire (i.e., a #5 with a french grip tang). Then, take a single link of chain and
bend both sides open. Run one of the open ends through a link on the chain about 10-12" down from one of the cups, and bend it back shut so it's attached to the chain. You can then hook the open end through any of the links above or below it to shorten the effective length of the chain to whatever you need for a given blade.

Yet another example of a "Why didn't I think of it?" idea. Thanks, Dave! Similar Threads -
