Please God no! No bib as target. No weapon arm as target. No getting rid of off-target light... no Mickey Mouse LED ears on the mask that light up when you get hit... just, stop the insanity.

If the off weapon arm in foil was target, we'd have a lot less covering target and maybe more people would adopt a "classical" stance.

Also, if we make the mask target we'd get rid of all the squirmy, ducking, target-covering people... hmmm, how about we make foil to have non-weapon arm as target, mask (but not bib) as target, no off-target light, 1ms lock-out time, increase debounce time to 20ms w/ the 1000g springs, LED Mickey Mouse ears on the mask, and... on horseback!

There, your work is done FIE. Now you can sit back and rest, look upon your work, and know that it is good.

Yes there is. I believe that it is that the rules are locked as of those in force at the World Championships just prior to the Olympics.

How about little tasers in the tips of epees? So if you can stand the pain long enough to land your own point, you get a double. More resemblance to actual dueling conditions.

If you opponent has thin soles, and you make a floor touch on a grounded strip...

No, no, no, no, no, no (I've been watching Vicar of Dibley on PBS again)

Use GPS and a supercomputer to tell when the tip contacts the fencer. Go whole hog.

Lame for the horses. No function, but it would look cool.

Armourers would have to develop farriers' skills.

Tefflon butt.
Double wired weapons in case one breaks;
Italian Grips only in foil,
New FIE Standard Strips at a new longer length.
