    Schematics for Scoring Machine

I am relatively new to fencing and would like to help my club out acquiring scoring machines. These are fairly expensive and difficult for a small club to afford.I would like to know if anyone has tried to build one. It does not have to have all the bells and whistles, just enough to help us avoid dry fencing.I've seen the buzz box by Mr. Tice and will be building that very soon. Thanks for any help out there.

I've seen a homebrew box, and it always worked rather well. The key is getting the schematics for one that's fairly simple. The more recent machines I believe tend to use microprocessors and the like, which would not be easy to replicate (so far as I know). I'm sure there are more knowledgeable armory/engineering types on this board that can help.

Try Augusto Roman's site. He was working on a design a while ago:

    <a href="http://www.stanford.edu/~aroman/fencing/fencing_board/" target="_blank">http://www.stanford.edu/~aroman/fencing/ fencing_board/</a>

This directory contains a .zip file with all the info on his project.

Well I builded several machines using a design from a fried of me. Piet Wauters. I work in the desing of the software for it and it is fully tunable, so if the rules are changed, you just adjust the mchine to the new rules. In fact we tested at the Spanish Federation the no flick rules for foil, and the shorter blocking time rules for foil and sabre using this machines.
The cost of the machine is around 120 Euro if you build it yourself.
The only problem is that it is based in a Motorola component MC68HC811E2P or MC68HC811E2CP that has been discontinued from Motorola, but it is still possible to find it in USA although here in Spain is becoming difficult to find it.
I think both me and my friend will be very happy in providing all schemas and support for lets say two of those chips (around 15 USD each.
If someone is interested let me know.

    Dr. Diaz,

How can we obtain a copy of the schematics and parts list?
Remember those who put their lives in danger for your sake.

For your copy of "The Care and Feeding of All Things Fencing", Second Edition go to The Armorer's Store, Fencing.net or www.homfencing.com

Oh,just send a private e-mail to me I'll be very glad in sending you the schematics and the part list. I suggest you to check if you can find the MC68HC811E2P or MC68HC811E2CP, if you can find them go ahead. I have the soft ready for actual FIE rules and the proposed modifications, as I wrote before I'll provide it for two of those chips per machine build.
