Oversized Foil Jackets

Is there any rule against a fencer wearing a jacket that is so large that it covers parts of the lame (e.g., under the arm)?

Anytime anything impedes the lame it is considered covering target. Hair on the back of the lame is also covering target.

You might take in the excess with a needle and thread. As he grows into the jacket you can take out the stitches.

I think (emphasis on think) that t.22 & t.23's mention of covering with "non-valid surface" extends to this sort of scenario.

I find it hard to imagine a jacket so ridiculously large that it covers target under the arm to the extent that someone would call for it.

Especially considering the sizes of some of the lamés that are allowed in competition...
