Actually, this is a rather interesting point. Since my club is a University club and 99% of our fencers use club gear, we really can't go about putting names on the backs of the jackets/lames... Makes going to anything but local tournaments dodgy at best... | .......... You write the university club name on all of the gear. All of it. My college club actually has the name of our school where some people have names on some jackets, and it's not that uncommon. Not exactly okay for international competition, but certainly useful for local tournaments where jackets might get misplaced............

We already have them labeled on the shoulder (shows university name and jacket size)... but are you suggesting that we do NOT need the fencers name on the back if the University/Club name is there? Nice!

Nice! | Well, kind of. For International or National competition, you're still going to need a fencer's name on the back (Preferably the name of the person wearing the jacket.....). But if they're going to a NAC, I think it's reasonable to ask them to have their own jacket or lame. For LOCAL events, or really any meet where college clubs are invited, having the university name on the back usually isn't going to annoy anyone, and it will help in figuring out who the hell is who....
Heh, I mean, most refs can figure out who I am across a room, and my jacket has the wrong name on it. Then again, I have bright red hair and the name is my boyfriend's.......... yeah.
