I'm not the kind of person who posts my results either, that's just my way.
I can understand, personally being from an underfunded and shoved around club in a school, how it feels when you go out and kick some ass (even in a small event) to get completely ignored by your school. You want to kind of find somebody who cares about your results, and I'm sure Stranger, who found this site, thought it would be a good area to display this.
It's not like this was put in the main fencing discussion forum. It's in the water cooler. If the only thing that you are taking offense to is that Stranger said it put them on the map....honestly, who is being hypersensitive here? If it doesn't matter to you, why are you even posting? Does it hurt your ego or something? I can't see how this would make you any less of a fencer, mrbiggs, by saying their club went to an event and did well for the venue and got noticed.
People have gotten props for far less on this forum, let Stranger bask in her glory and hopefully move up and onward. Thank you! Also of note...Stranger scored three points on me in pools (I think it was three) and then scored SIX points on a very good B-rated foilist in DEs. I think they're doing great for a new high school club. And we're talking New Hampshire here...not New Jersey. -

Which of the following did I do?:
[] Told the OP that her post was inappropriate for this forum
[] Told the OP that her team was bad
[] Told the OP that she should get better if she wants to post here
[] Told the OP that results shouldn't be posted on fencing.net
[] Told the OP that results of this level shouldn't be posted on fencing.net
[] Said "GTFO n00b" or any variation thereof
[] Told the OP that this was no accomplishment at all
[] Told the OP that the result is bad no matter what her team's situation
[] Made a remark that though this may be a good personal result, not DFLing in a tournament is a bit of a silly thing to make a thread about, but while saying this, reinforcing that I think that her club can achieve any level she wishes and that this is certainly a good stepping stone, although not in those words -

Array mrbiggs, the very fact that you responded as such means you are being oversensitive. The Angel of Death Strikes!

I made a quite clear comment and now there are several people attacking me for it based on a misinterpretation. I'm continuing to make my comments simpler and clearer so that even the dumbest person here can understand, because I've been in the position of having a better fencer put my results down on this forum, and I know it's no fun. I wouldn't want to put anyone through that, even if it's their own fault that they're not paying attention to what I'm saying.
Of course, you can make meaningless, condescending remarks that clearly don't apply to the situation, which is always helpful to everyone. Thanks.
