Quick Armorer Question

I'm writing instruction right now to help with the quick diagonosis of bodycord problems, whats your best way to short a bayonet bodycord to test it for breaks, I've always used a sabre socket or my handy short tool, but this is for people that would not have either. Your advice?

You use a guard. You can easily hold a bayo so the tip and the side contact are touching the guard.

Use a bit of the lamé that the fencer is wearing. Real easy to fold metallic cloth around the tip of the bayonet plug. And conveniently right there when testing on strip.

Thanks guys I always just remembered the alligator eating the bayonet trick. Thanks!

Edit: B, you're wife is awesome, she stopped by the other day. You rock.

I use ring on the guard, tip on the blade. You can hold the weapon and the bayonet plug with one hand and wiggle the wire with the other.

Remember, a dynamic test with flexing of the wire is going to find a lot more intermittents than just touching.
