Fencing shoes

Has anyone purchased/used STARFIGHTER fencing shoes? Are they any good? Are they worth the $70 or should I go for a better quality shoe? Thanks!

I wore a pair of starfighter shoes for a little over a year. I liked them. You should buy an athletic foot insole for them. I find that they lack enough padding to keep your feet comfortable.

My son blew the toes out of his Starfighters in about 5 months. A friend of mine did it in under three. Pay the extra money for Adidas, PBT, Vittoria, Diadora etc.

I had the Starfighters, felt good for about a month, went rapidly downhill from there. $30 more bucks for Adidas(fencingpost), pbt is worth it. Paolo where can you get Vittoria, Diadora??

ps I've seen fencingpost's cheap shoes in person, and they looked well made(better than startfighters), but have never worn them myself.

Flying Phil uses the Post Sport fencing shoes. I think that he's had them for over 8 months and they are still going good.

Viktoria (not Vittoria, sorry, I'm still stuck in my old cycling days) and Diadora shoes are both available from Negrini at www.negrini.com.

I think they are phasing out the Diadoras. I'm not even sure if Diaodra will continue to manufacture them.

The starefighters are not worth the money. Blew through mine in under 5 months. Spend the extra for better shoes.
