Is it just me, or does the 3rd part loop back to the first video?

Pretty average final. You can tell just how much Baldini hates fencing Joppich-a fencer who has an unbelievable talent for making opponents miss him. Not to mention Joppich's great ability to pick up the blade with those sweeping actions. Baldini was even trying to hunch up a la Joppich- you sensed he just didn't have his own strategy for fencing him.

Wow, that was a terrible bout for Baldini. He blew it by making way to many first intention attacks, IMHO. Easy for Joppich to read. Either his point was way off target on the approach, making it easy for Joppich to step in or he would extend too early and get parry riposted. Seems to me he should have set up more second intention remises, counter-ripostes, etc. Anyway he should have moved him around more. Attacking Joppich when he expects it is suicide.

That being said, Joppich's fencing is so booooring to watch. You gotta respect the result, but please...

And what were Baldini and Cerioni saying in Italian during the break? The look on Baldini's face was grim. Is Cerioni Baldini's coach? That is like Hulk Hogan giving advice to Tiger Woods.

Almost like being at a boring fencing tournament with your chatty pal and his cellphone. The verisimilitude is striking!

Why, one should never take advice from an Olympic Gold Medalist? It is going to be a long time before you get the pebble, Grasshopper.

Frankly, I thought it was great fencing from Baldini...Keeping up with Joppich's footwork and distance changes is night on impossible, as his match against Kleinbrik, or however its spelt, demonstrated. Baldini still did a stunning job of it and actually was in control of distance for one hell of a long time considering.

Baldini started going with the point more in third period, landed a couple of offtargets after some beautiful disengages, and got a nice counter-riposte too. Too bad he didn't change his tactics earlier.

Joppich seems to have amazing point control, almost always finds the target.
