Array Collegiate Clubs Dues/otherwise Hey all you collegiate people out there, how do you get your members to turn in dues/pay for tournament lodging/transportation, etc.? It's an issue we've had at my club for a while, and I'm all for new ideas. Dammit Harry, that's not a plan, that's a loony tune! -

Array We tell them to. They do.
Experiences from two different collegiate clubs:
UMass: Dues were relatively high ($100/semester or $175/year). A due date was set for some time in October. Rarely issues with people paying by the date. Don't recall any issues where someone hadn't paid by a week after.
All tournament expenses (travel, fees, etc.) were paid by the club, so there wasn't any running around after people to collect on a week-to-week basis.
Temple (club): Dues are exceptionally low ($10/year). Remind people to bring them in for a couple of weeks, tell them they can't come to practice after X date unless they've paid. Generally, again, no problems.
I haven't been involved in the competition money, but generally one of the officers has totalled up costs, and sends out an email with amounts owed by each person. Sometimes that officer collects and redistributes as appropriate, other times it's been specified "X, give $Y to Z" and left between X and Z to sort out.
