Private Blog

I want to set my blog to private but when I do save the private setting I can still view it when I log off of my account, so it clearly isnt working. I am setting it to let users on my buddy list view it. Does anyone else have this problem? I have noticed two blogs that are private so obviously it is possible to set it as such. Any ideas about what Im doing wrong? Please help.

Thanks.

you have to set each entry to private. Only your buddy list can read them

Actually, you might be logged back in, as I was automatically logged in by my browser, even after I logged out when I performed a search. Look at the upper right corner to see if it says "welcome, guest". When I changed browsers (from firefox to ie) and performed a search without logging in I still could see previews of my journal entries, but when clicking on them I would have to log in to view the whole thing. At least that was my experience with my own journal...

I logged out and it was still viewable.

Support for this blog add-on has been a little spotty and there is a new blog integration that is supported by the same company that developed the forums. I'm looking at their feature set to see if they would handle the private blogging aspects effectively and be able to import all of the existing blogs so there is no front-end change.

Well I ticked the tickboxes for both private blog settings (one for the blog buddy list to be used and the other for the regular buddy list to be used) and when I logged out I couldn't view my blog. Could someone tell me whether or not they can read it. I have added most of the major bloggers to both lists so someone random has to tell me if they can see it.

Your last entry was in March. I don't know if I'm on your buddy list or not, but I can see it.

My last entry was last weekend. I just stickied the fencing video entry to the top so if I add stuff to it people can find it easily.

Ok good. This thread can be closed to left to die.

If anyone wants to make their blog private let it be known that both settings for the private blog must be ticked.
