getting back into groove... Alright...here's the scanario. Christmas break, no fencing...a lotta sitting on your duff eating such things as cookies, pies, and cakes. What is the best way to start back into fencing? I mean, you can't just go back expecting to do it at the same pace, right? What exactly is the best to do, start out less and less, and then work back to normalacy? Just wondering. "Pain is just weakness leaving your body." -
I am going through the same thing, but I am hosting a big tournament next weekend... -
I did a lot of footwork over the break. Kept my muscles limber. But when we got back at club, we just did the same things we always did. -

Array I didn't do anything but lay around for the last 3 weeks. I've been sick with pneumonia. Yuk. Now I am going to try and get my withered body back in shape.

You've done a pretty good assessment of where you are now and where you want to be. Just start- practice footwork, take 30 minute walks 1-2 x per day, get back into healthy eating- doesn't necessarily mean that you have to give up all the goodies- just eat them in moderation- which has a different meaning for everyone, but for me, that means only 2 cookies, OK, 3 a day tops! Get going now!!! I live to fence and fence to live!! -

Array I've re-started my footwork and lunge excerises. But I've a double problem. The clubs closed for re-furbishment and there's all this food (especially chcolate ) to be eaten. hmm-mmm Similar Threads -
