chest protectors

for the full chest protectors, the equipment company our team is ordering from supplies x-small, small, medium, and large. as a 34A, would i be an extra small or a small? i haven't been able to try on samples and the sizing instructions make no sense. any tips on sizing?

I would say just perfect. Try the small.

belligerent_sorceress, probably a small, but depending on HOW the equipment vendor decides the cup sizes you may be an xtra small.

To me, they all fit like the upper torso of a Barbie doll. There's really no way to know what's going to fit you without trying it on (just like a bra). I would suggest ordering both the small and the extra small and return the one that doesn't fit. Alternatively, you can try the saucer style protectors (as a petite woman, that's what I use). They're more forgiving on fit and a lot less expensive.

As a male fencer who accidentally stumbled on the topic of chest protectors, I would... ummm... suggest calling ...is it hot in here or is it just me... the equipment supplier to get the ...gulp... ahem... appropriate size.
