Sorry but I can not take your word on this. You say this for almost all events listed here. I will need independent verification!

Then show up and see for yourself! Or look at the past results of the event! This event is for a GREAT cause AND it's a lot of fun.

Hope to see a LOT of fencers there! We'll have a lot of fun

I have no doubt in the cause, nor do I have any doubt that it will be a good event. I only have a doubt in your ability to identify great events. While most events have potential to be great, not all events can be great. Again, I look to others for their opinion! There are 3 other RMS tournaments going on at the same time. Let's not forget the Longhorn Open down in TX.

Which 3? You mean the unrated epee tournament in Denver, the youth foil tournament in Kansas, and the non-USFA college-student-only tournament in Boulder? Seems that each of those tournaments are substantially more entry-restrictive than the Cliff Wilson, 3-weapon E & under ...

Now as far as conflict with the Longhorn goes, well, yes, that's a substantially larger tournament, but it's also 400 miles further to get to for the majority of folks in RMS. We'd love to draw more from SWS, but they don't exactly consult our calendars much ... we try not to schedule over them, but I think we actually had this particular date (as well as the Texas Tech Open) scheduled well in advance of SWS's calendar coming out.

I don't think your tournament and the Longhorn open are going to overlap with many fencers. The point I was trying to make was that there were other potentially good events. I've personally heard many good things about your tournaments. I'm trying to draw out some of the lurkers to say good things also. We are making progress on this forum, there have been a few new posters in recent days!

    Probably not. Hmm ... E-and-under event vs. A2, maybe A3 event ... hmm ...

What, people in RMS communicate?!? Say it ain't so ...

Sorry for the sarcasm there, but the past year or so has given me a much greater appreciation of the problems Jamey faced as section chair. I highly encourage anyone and everyone who's a part of the section to get involved, preferably in a good way

I agree, we have both had difficulties getting thing in the section moving because of lack of response! You are doing a good job as section chair though; hang in there!

The Cliff Wlson is slowly growing into a nice sized E and under event.

Aaron, let me know if you want me to referee or what not as I cannot fence but I will be there!

That's COOL.....I had no idea we had Thing in the section. I'm not surprised that we've had difficulties getting him to move around in the Section. It's a big section for a disembodied hand to move around in. If I remember correctly he can move around in glove compartments and briefcases. So getting him to some of the Section's tournaments might not be a big deal; maybe he could help run the score boxes or light ARC's cigars while he's reffing?

Since I don't smoke, I guess he'll just have to hold my black card for me

Great turn out for the first day. I don't think we have ever had 25 in the E and under Epee before! A few new clubs emerging that were there. It was great to see a lot of new faces.

    See everyone tomorrow!
