| Set your VCRs - August 8th Today Show http://www.fencing.net/content/view/529/2/
2004 Olympic gold medallist Mariel Zagunis and 2004 Olympic men's saber
fencer Keeth Smart will appear on NBC's Today Show on the morning of August 8 as a part of the Today Show's One Year from Beijing special.
Zagunis will appear in a taped profile. Smart will appear live in-studio and
afterward in person at the NBC Experience store in Manhatten for an
autograph session.
Set your machines to record, and if you're in the New York area, come out to
support your Olympians!! |

| I don't watch live TV (watch only DVDs or VHSs), so I am wondering, what do people do now to record television shows from off the air? Fewer people have VCRs than before and most DVD players are not recordable (or are they?).
Yes this is a threadjack, and one with an answer that I really don't care to know (since I won't be using the information in any viable way).

So you just set it to record whatever live TV you want, and thats pretty much it. You can also buy Tivo which records what you want as well.

| Are you saying that television aerials have no use anymore? That it's impossible for people to get free television reception using rabbit ear antennas or aerials hung on the roof?

(TV stations don't want broadcast to go away - cable/satellite is evil to them.) |

| Thanks for the news item, Craig. I have the satellite/DVR type combo (and a bit extra) and will dutifully record. |

| I'll tune in, if only to see which stupid questions and fatuous remarks the poor long-suffering fencers will have to endure THIS time...
