| Cincinnati Fencing Clubs? I recently moved to the greater Cincinnati area and was wondering whether there are any fencing clubs in or around town. My web research has been inconclusive- I found some info on "the Cincinnati Fencing Club" and "Salle du Lion" although I'm not sure that these are still in operation. I would sinceraly appreciate any help or information.
Thanks |

| The Cincinnati Fencing Club is very much in existence. I met a sabre fencer from that group last winter but have never had an opportunity to fence at one of their events. I have this bad habit of injuring myself.

| Thanks a lot for the info. I'll try to check out the tournament. Does anyone know which is more active or meets more frequently? |

Do you know if they're giving out the traditional trophy or just some cheap crap?
Anybody knows?

| A year late, but I'll respond that they don't actually give out the trophy...merely engrave the winner's name on it. They hand out medals, however. |

If they give out the traditional trophies*, then lots of us would show up and make it a good tournament.
*I was not talking about the traveling trophy, but the small ones you get to keep. I use to email them every year and ask about it, but they NEVER reply.

We give out the traditional medals like all tournaments and the engraving on the traveling trophy as said above. Are you saying you want like baseball style trophies handed out or something? I really am not sure what you are referring to. |
