Is the NM/Plains Texas Cup official... I saw a proposal a few weeks ago but don't know where it is going toward and what is going on with it yet..
Does anyone? -
Chuck is heading it up in our division. Direct all questions to him. -

Array I have been working out the New Mexico side of this with Toby Tolley and Andy Carey for the last couple of weeks. I have been updating the Plains Texas Division website at www.plainstexasdivision.com with the PROPOSED guidelines of the Cup for the last few weeks. We are down to just a couple of things that need to be decided between the two divisions and then we will be able to publish the final guidelines.
The Plains Texas - New Mexico Cup is going to happen. I anticipate that the two divisions will make an official announcement within the next few weeks. I am heading up the Plains Texas side and Andy Carey is heading up the New Mexico side of things. -

Great, thanks for keeping the local coaches in the loop... I'll be watching here for updates and information and I'll be watching the Plains Texas Site. Everyone else that is interested should do the same: http://www.plainstexasdivision.com -

Array The latest! PLAINS TEXAS - NEW MEXICO CUP PLAINS TEXAS - NEW MEXICO CUP
COMPETITION GUIDELINES
for the 2007 - 2008 Fencing Season
PLAINS TEXAS - NEW MEXICO CUP PURPOSE
The purpose of the Plains Texas - New Mexico Cup is to recognize the best fencers who are members of the Plains Texas and New Mexico Divisions. Only fencers born 1994 or earlier, who are members of the Plains Texas Division or New Mexico Division, are eligible to earn points and compete for the Plains Texas - New Mexico Cup. Eligibility will be determined by the official USFA competitive members roster for the two divisions.
PLAINS TEXAS - NEW MEXICO CUP AWARDS
A Cup will be awarded for the following:
Senior Men’s Foil
Senior Women’s Foil
Senior Men’s Epee
Senior Women’s Epee
Senior Men’s Sabre
Senior Women’s Sabre
The Plains Texas - New Mexico Cup winners will receive an appropriate recognition. The Cups will be awarded at the conclusion of the last scheduled Cup tournament to those winners present. Otherwise, the Cups will be awarded as arranged by the Cup Commissioners with the winners.
CUP ADMINISTRATION
The 2007-2008 Plains Texas - New Mexico Cup will administered by Chuck Slaughter from the Plains Texas Division and Andrew Carey from the New Mexico Division as joint Cup Commissioners. The Commissioners will also be responsible for tracking the points earned through the fencing season. A point chart will be made available to both divisions that may be posted on the Division websites.
TOURNAMENTS
Senior Fencers will be able to earn points at the following Tournaments:
PLAINS TEXAS DIVISION
Texas Tech Open Fencing Tournament, Lubbock, Texas (January 26-27, 2008)
Amarillo Open Fencing Tournament, Amarillo, Texas (February 9-10, 2008)
Crown of Texas Open Fencing Tournament, Amarillo, Texas (Jun 7-8, 2008)
NEW MEXICO DIVISION
New Mexico Open Fencing Tournament, Albuquerque, New Mexico (September 15-16, 2007)
Nick Toth Memorial Fencing Tournament, Colorado Springs, CO (October 27-28, 2008)
Santa Fe Challenge Fencing Tournament, Santa Fe, NM (May 3-4, 2008)
HOW TO EARN POINTS
Points will be awarded from the Senior Men’s, Women’s and Mixed Foil, Epee and Sabre competitions in the listed tournaments. In the "mixed" events, all fencers earn the points assigned for their final place, regardless of gender. The point schedule used will be the same schedule used for USFA Veteran Age Group competitions up to 64th place. Each fencer may count ALL points earned in any eligible event for their total.
PLEASE TAKE NOTE: To win the Cup in any category, a fencer MUST compete in at least ONE event for that weapon in EACH division. A fencer who competes only in tournaments in one division is not eligible to win the Cup at the end of the season.
Note from epeeforlife: To see the points table you have to go to http://www.plainstexasdivision.com/ and navigate around. Another useful post by EPEEFORLIFE! -

Array The second competition of the Plains Texas - New Mexico Cup is complete but the results of the Nick Toth Memorial Fencing Tournament have not yet been posted on Ask FRED. I will update the points list when the final standings are posted. In the meantime, if anyone has all the results, please send them to me and I can update the points.
(For those who might wonder - yes, a Colorado tournament is part of our Plains Texas - New Mexico Cup competition. The New Mexico Division chose the Nick Toth as their third event.) -

(For those who might wonder - yes, a Colorado tournament is part of our Plains Texas - New Mexico Cup competition. The New Mexico Division chose the Nick Toth as their third event.) We had a hard time uploading ALL the results because we were using 3 computers and had not gone through the experince of transfering the fencing time database issues that arise when moving them to a siingle computer but everything is now entered into askfred! http://askfred.net/Results/results.p...nament_id=4161 -
