Adidas shoes

I noticed some people asked about the new Adidas shoes in the "save 50% on Adidas gear" topic. The http://thestore.adidas.com seems to not tell people when their fencing shoes will be back in stock. Check out www.thefencingpost.com because they are carrying both the asymmetrical model and the D'Artagnon model.
This is not a shameless plug by The Fencing Post but a customer who has been satisfied with their service and just wants to pass it along.

Depends on what you're looking for. The Fechter has a good deal more cushioning and support that previous fencing shoes designs, at the expense of being heavier and having a somewhat higher sole-- the Adistar and D'Artagnan models adhere to the more usual philosophy of making fencing shoes as light and low-soled as possible. I do notice the difference in weight between the Fechter and my grey/black Adistars, but the Fechter is more comfortable over a full day of fencing due to the better support.

The soles of the Fechters are also of a slightly harder compound that should hold up better on metal pistes, but gives a bit less grip on smooth or dusty surfaces.
