knickers

anyone have a suggestion for knickers with lots of length (i.e. perfect for the um...slimmer body types.. ). really tired of and annoyed with the elastic getting above the knee even for the teeniest of lunges..

Allstar and Negrinin tends to have slim cuts. Allstar will make 'Tall' sizes, but I don't know about Negrini. (Italians tend to be quite short, at least the women...)

If the 'tall' cut is too short for you you might want to look into custom cut breeches.

My problem is thighs that are, um, generously proportioned. The elastic won't always slide back down when it's slid up during a lunge. Either I roll the whole back leg up over the knee and fence like that, or I stretch the elastic out or cut it so that it falls smoothly up and down. Dunno if any of those things would make yours more comfy.

When I bought my knickers, the elastic was quite loose. I took them to a tailor and had the elastic taken in. I think it cost less than $15. Problem solved.

If you do this, explain that a lot of stress gets put on the seams and they should use heavy-duty thread.

Just be careful about adding material to FIE items, taking out is no problem.

And that doesn't apply to elastic.

Elsewhere, the handy solution for waistband Velcro that pops any time we generously sized people lunge is coat size hook and eye. The ones about half an inch wide.

I've been quite happy with Uhlmann "tall" sizes.

Also, while I can't endorse the Allstar Startex Jacket... the knickers are incredible and I don't think I could buy any other type.
