    I would like to start by saying thank you to every one here on this web site. I am new to fencing and to Irish dance. I can honestly say that the postings and banter back and forth here are very civilized. You all wouldn't believe how people and their opinions are treated on other sites. Or maybe you would and that's why you are here. Thank you to all who have made me and my son feel welcome.

    We have our trolls, but they're usually more clever than average - or at least entertaining in a snarky way. Fencers can be a bit prickly and anti-authoritarian, but not dull-witted, as they get weeded out fairly early. Balbos is alright - just a little too confrontational for some. I believe he's from Croatia, so his world view is considerably different than that of others.

    Yes, he was rude. Some things that he said were clever, but if you opposed him, he was rude.
