| Medalist Photos from Summer Nationals Medalist photos from USA Summer Nationals will be posted at www.FencingPhotos.com within a week or less.
We were asked to step-in at the last minute to take the podium photos at Nationals, and we've been able to shoot about 90 percent of them (we missed a few at the beginning, due to us having to get organized to handle the gig).
I'm leaving to cover the Pan Am Games on Tuesday night, and I plan to have most, if not all of them posted before I leave. So please be patient and we'll post a notice when they're up.
Thanks. |

| Thanks, Serge. I saw the photos being taken and hoped. I'll check back later.

| How, um, organized things were.
Thanks for stepping in. I saw you lurking around my GM bout, wonder if you caught any of me. |

| We were doing very limited action photos -- only medalists. I shot one or two finals bouts at the request of a few people, but not much else. The photographers I hired to shoot medalists also photographed a few other things, but not too much as they had to be on-hand for the ceremonies.
So it's possible I photographed you, but I was lurking as a photographers' manager more than doing any shooting myself. |

Good thing you were able to step up and help out Serge.

| We were pleased to be able to help out. It was a bit of a scramble, but we managed to get most of it.
We're discussing the entire photo thing for the future to see what makes sense for national events, especially nationals and JOs.
Thanks to everyone for your patience and understanding and we'll get things up ASAP. I've jumped this project ahead of the grand prix tour feature. I had planned to get as much as possible up by this afternoon, but it looks like I'll be uploading from Rio instead. Copacabana and its prominent features will just have to wait ... ;-) |

| So did action photos have a reason for bagging the trip? I mean, that's a pretty big lurch to leave the SN in.

I took that to mean they did not make enough last time (not enough purchases?) to make it worth their while.
There could have been more notice so the USFA could have found a replacement, though.
Thanks to Serge for stepping in!!!

| We were glad to help out. While we didn't get 100 percent of the ceremonies, we did get a lot. It involved scrambling to find three different photographers at various points, since I had my week tied-up coaching, fencing, and wrangling three teenage boys hell-bent for leather on South Beach (and occasionally fencing).
I will be posting a Q&A with the photos, since there are some variations to the style and types of photos, as well as the quantity (and non-existence!) of some of the galleries. I want everyone to understand what we were doing and how it worked.
You'll find the prices to be competitive, generally lower than previous/recent national photos, and with a larger variety of prints styles and products. We're especially keeping prices lower since we hadn't planned to do this event and our overhead was relatively limited.
In the future, if/when we do more national events, we'll be more prepared -- we began this on the second day and organized it on the first.
My Web connection is pretty good here in Rio at the Pan Am games, so I plan to post all of our galleries tomorrow (Friday) before I go to the opening ceremonies.
As always, we look forward to your feedback. |

| On a more or less unrelated note, I noticed some people with a relatively nice video camera filming all of my bouts on the last Saturday of Nats. Anyone know if there was a group filming that day (local news, FP, etc.) or if I just had a rather well equipped stalker?

| Hi FencerMom ...
I'm sorry, but this is one we didn't cover. On the first day of competitions we were scrambling to find local photographers who could cover the event and few of them had the entire week open.
We have a Q&A on the web site that includes the events that we did cover: http://fencingphotos.com/2007%20USFA...nals%20Q&A.htm
I'm apologize and sincerely wish we could have gotten them all. :-( |

| Serge, you might want to add that you covered the Vet 50 MS as well---since the medalist photos from that event are there. ( They are in the Vet 40 MS gallery. )

| Y14 Question... Hi Everyone --
Some alert parent noticed that the following gallery is incorrectly listed as Y14 Men's Foil: http://www.printroom.com/ViewGallery...lery_id=759793
My problem is we don't have it correctly identified and I'm not sure what it is. I know it was taken Sunday, July 1.
Can anyone please help?
Thanks |

| Looks like Y12 Boys Epee. There's a kid from Katy Blades (Gulf coast Division) and a kid from Texas Fencing Academy (South Texas) in the top 8. |
