| Escrime International - Lames and such. Well, I've had Rick Shellhouse's stuff for a while now, and i've been released from my NDA, so I can blab about the stuff I've been trying to destroy.
Lame - (foil)
I personally didn't use this one, as Rick made it a point to provide me with one for my significant other, who primarily fences foil. First off, the cut is actually made to fit an anatomically correct person, for those of you who don't know, most lames aren't made to fit those who have to wear those lovely WonderWoman Bustiers. The zipper curves a bit, to not place another piece of metal directly over sensitive parts. The material is on-par, or above that which we both own, hers being a seven year old Uhlmann stainless, and mine being a budget LP ( I forget which one, but it was cheap, and my old sabre lame shot craps.) The foil lame is amongst the lightest she's used, and it breathes well, but not as well as her Uhlmann does, nor does the sabre breathe as well as my LP.
Lame - Sabre
The sabre lame I have (in size gorilla), is probably the second lightest lame I've worn, besides the FWF ultra-light a friend let me borrow when my backup backup Santelli started to cook me. This is a big issue for me, seeing as it is as light as much smaller lames, and I wear a size 56US lame. I can't speak for the smaller sabre lames and weight, but I'd doubt if they get smaller and heavier. The durability is amazing. I've taken at least three broken blades being drug down and across the lame with almost no visible wear and tear on them.
On the downside, the material inside of it tends to capture boyfunk exceptionally well, but keep in mind, I have prototypes, and this may have already been fixed, or I could just be very stinky.
Overall, these are amongst the highest quality lames I've owned and used, my LP lame is now a backup, but the SO's Uhlmann won out in the end, as she kept on losing the stupid thing, because of it's weight. You'll have to ask Rick, and I'm sure he'll pop in with prices, but I don't know them offhand. Go buy them, he has them at nats. |

| No idea. There was a big booth off in the opposite corner from you called "Athos" that I didn't recognize but didn't look too closely at. I did all my purchasing at Fencing.net (near ~$450, all told) and a little bit from Absolute.
Also discovered a few days in that No One had a printed copy of the rulebook for sale, once Amanda ran out. |

| I did look closely at the Athos booth and found they had better prices for identical gear, of which I purchased some. I would have purchased the fencing shoe they were selling if they had a half size bigger since their price was $30 lower. They were quite friendly and the prices were good. Their gear also looked good. They had an interesting foil blade design with beveled edges, making it kind of rounder, which they contended made the blades lighter and the blades all did bend in just the right place when pushed against resistance. |

R | I was looking for Sharon Everson, who had misplaced her copy. It's much easier to look up a rule for an appeal (assuming you know about where it is) on paper than in a PDF. Fortunately, Gerrie had one. |
