Array Getting a ref to clarify "With The Halt?" (tangent from other thread)
Until we can reshape the world to our liking and eradicate the phrase, "with the halt," what do you think is the best way to get a ref to clarify himself in awarding such touches?
(Oops. Peet prompted quick edit. Thanks.)

Array I believe the offending phrase is "with the halt".
Having said that, the only line of questioning that will have any hope of getting you what you want is:
"Sir/ma'am, what was the reason for the halt?"
And then having gotten the answer (x):
"Sir/ma'am, did the action that scored begin before or after (x)?"
Note that these questions make it pretty clear to the ref what you're trying to do, and most any ref will give the answers that support the call they've made, whether those answers reflect what actually happened or not.

I think that is the best way that "with the halt" can be explained. I agree with Redblade that the use of that phrase needs to be extinguished. -

I certainly didn't mean it that way.
Apologies if it sounded like that to anyone else....

-p Didn't sound that way to me, either. Did you recently deny Rebel multiple touches because they were with the halt? ;D -

-p NONONONO. Peet, I'm just joking around with you. Sorry, I suppose it might have come across negatively. RebelFencer's Awesome Quote of the Week:

Oh, ok.
Someday they're gonna invent this really cool forum feature where the poster's tone of voice is captured, and we'll have fewer misunderstandings....
cheers!

-B But why would we say it in the open? He has to suspect that we're smarter than that... so he has to believe that the prank is a ruse. But then he has to think that we'd think that he'd think that, so he can accept it at face value. But then there's the possibility that he could think we would think that he would think... (This was a joke, HDG is in actuality a pleasant poster on f.net. I'm not sure I've actually met him in real life although we are members of the same section.) RebelFencer's Awesome Quote of the Week:
