Stains on the glove

At my last tournament I spilled red gatorade on my glove and uniform. I was able to get the stains out of the jacket but couldnt get it out of the glove. the stains on the glove are really faint but my coach told me I would have to buy a new glove becuase they wouldnt let me compete in nationals unless I got a new glove. Is my coach right ? I have no problem buying a new glove I just don't want to break it in at nationals.

He's over-reacting....you should see some of the uniforms that hit the strip sometimes.

They won't keep you from fencing...at the worst you'll be told to go buy a new one. nationals of part fencing event and part trade show...you'll have no problem finding a new glove IF you are required to get one.

(in fact...if you like blue, I suggest the Armor Two glove that will be carried by Fencing.net....but I may be a BIT biased there....since it's MY glove!)

alewive will become famous soon enough
My daughter's glove doesn't remotely resemble its original color. Despite my personal objection to the glove, and attempts at replacing it (two new, unused ones in the bag), it's a personal favorite and has been washed & patched several times. Peer taunting, yes, but no "official" rejection of the glove.

Your coach is wrong.

If the stain ended up looking like a very large exact copy of some well recognized logo, then perhaps there could be something under the publicity/advertizing thing that someone could catch you on.

Or if it was something vaguely unsafe, like a large patch of chewing gum permanently affixed.

But other than that? I'd say no.
