Save my cuff?

Okay, so I'm an idiot and didn't see my sabre cuff get tossed into the laundry with the rest of my uniform. It's failed inspection twice in the last week. Obviously I can just pick up a new one at the nationals, but I was wondering if there's anything I might be able to do to save it, or if it's finished.

A likely problem is soap residue. The usual method for the future is to wash it like a delicate in something like woolite and amonia (1 cap full per gallon). What you need to do now is to rinse it, rinse again and rinse again. While rinsing it rub it to push out the residue. When you think you rinsed it enough, rinse it again. Let it dry hanging in the garage or someplace out of direct sunlight. Then test it again.
