Array question I know that I am posting a question to my own thread but....
I really liked the design on the right - hence my post - but now that I look at the one on the left I have a question. I lived in Miami for a year and do not remember surfing on the east coast like people do in California and Hawaii. Ignoring the fact that you would not fence on a surfboard, is there surfing there? There sure as heck is surfing in New Jersey. Why not Miami?
But I don't care for either T-shirt. Oh, well. -

Array Those are some of the ugliest shirts I have ever seen. I want Proprint back. -
Yeah, the one on the left is just badddd. The one on the right, dorky, but whatever. "Life is like a wheel, where everyone steals, but when we rise, it's like Strawberry Fields." -

Array And I was thinking, I might actually buy a t-shirt this year! I think the design is cute, and I like 'em a lot better than last year's for sure. I like it when you can actually tell it was from the location where it was held, as opposed to some generic thing. -

I won't know if I like this shirt or not until I see it in person, but at least you can tell where it's from. -

Array I'm also a fan of shirts that have a location-oriented theme and/or a very unique fencing design. For example, the Dec. 05 Pittsburgh NAC shirt had a Steelers theme. The Mar. 06 Reno NAC shirt had a playing card/fencer theme. I've also liked the new company's shirts at the NACs this year. -

Array Two of the biggest gripes I have with the new company is the illegibility of the names on the back and that their t-shirts' material seems to be of lesser quality. By the way, I know Proprint gave a chunk of its profits back to the USFA, does the new company do that too? -

As they are a company not owned by anyone involved in fencing, have no connection with fencing, and are essentially just paying for the privilege of being the "official" t-shirt supplier, yea, they're probably giving a chunk of their profits back to the USFA in the form of lisencing fees (or at least, I HOPE they are!). But, don't expect to see any of the extra's that ProPrint did, quietly, under the spotlight, and away from public notice.
And yea, the illegibility of the names was absolutely ridiculous at JO's. I'll give my t-shirt business for general fencing related stuff to Big-For-Their-Britches before I give it to this new vendor. That's it, I'm done with the discussion forums on F.net. It's had its uses, but the ideologues, ranters, and "experts" have drowned too many of the conversations. I'm changing my password to something random and never logging in again. -

Array Could they have gotten a few more images and colors on those T's??? They remind me of the cheap(er) tourist T's found everywhere.
They are too busy for my taste. I'm with Oso-B4OB is a much classier outfit.
And yes-there is surfing on the east coast of Florida. http://www.ronjons.com/DisplayContent.aspx?ContentID=39 -

I guess that the reason that I liked this one is because it looks like a "Nationals in Miami shirt" not another red, white, and blue fencing shirt. My boys go to enough fencing tournaments that after awhile how many red, white, and blue fencing shirts do you want My boys are at the ages that cheesy tourist shirts are more appealing. Array I liked proprintwear... Not exactly a fan of the new designs. What's the new company called? - I'd be interested in a poll on this proprintwear vs. new company shirt designs :P A synonym is a word you use when you can't spell the word you first thought of. -

Array Ugh.
I suspect that the people in charge of designing those shirts are big fans of monster truck rallies and have been known to scream "FREEBIRD!" at more than one concert. Will they change their garish ways when the USFA notes that sales are down from last year? One hopes, but is not sanguine about it.
But OTOH, considering the popularity of colored lamés, orange gloves, wierd socks and other such emblems of tastelessness amongst fencers these days, maybe this is just what the average customer wants.
Still....ugh. Use the Shift key, people! Keyboard manufacturers everywhere are ineffably saddened when you ignore what they made just for you! -

Array I think someone ought to make a 'Nationals' T-shirt for Inq alone; a white t-shirt that said 'US Summer Nationals' -- in transparent print. -
If it is in distinguishable print, you can't. Similar Threads -
