URL redirection changed?

I'm pretty sure that I have used the URL http://fencing.net/forums/ to access the forums in the past. Now, that URL redirects me to http://www.fencing.net/, the fencing.net home page, not the forums. Not a big problem, but I'm pretty sure that this redirection just stopped taking me to the forums some time this week. Has something changed recently?

Yes, I probably should have mentioned that. Of course, that works fine. I'm just too lazy to type it, and Firefox completes the URL with whatever I've used most. So, CTRL+L, fenc, and Firefox gives me http://fencing.net/forums/. It gives me that URL because that's the URL that I've been using to hit the forum for at least the last few days. And last week, it suddenly stopped working.

Not a big change, and I can certainly cope, especially if the change was intentional for something like SEO. I just thought that I'd mention it in case the change was an unintentional side-effect of some other change.
