Cuissard Strap?

I was thumbing through the FIR Rule Book the other day (metaphorically; it's a PDF file) and didn't find any mention of a requirement for a cuissard strap (the one that goes between your legs to hold your jacket down). Has this been superseded, or am I just missing something? Is the one on your jacket rendered unnecessary by one on your lamé?

Is any protection for the lower body (ahem) required besides the pants?

It is required on
the epee jacket m.25 (4) (interpretation of "must cover the whole surface of the trunk")
the foil lame m.28 and figure 14
the sabre lame. m.34 and figure 15

It is not required on the sabre jacket. I cannot find a rule requiring it on the foil jacket.

I believe it would be required if fencing in the UK, although I might be wrong. But that's the BFA's ruling.

Below the waist is not target so no one will hit you there.

Yeah, that's why I fence without knickers.
