PBT is good quality and can be a very good deal if you can order it direct from the headquarters. If you have to go through a country specific middleman the value falls of a fair bit depending on where you are.

Off the top of my head the cheapest FIE kit I know of is the Absolute FIE kit. A pretty good quality no frills kit. The cut and design are close to Uhlmann/Allstar (seems to run a little thin so more like Allstar), but the materials and fittings (velcro, elastic, etc.) are more comparable to the non-FIE Absolute line of gear. The uniform itself is an off white, sort of ecru or eggshell color that some people really dislike. The Absolute FIE plastron is very nice, being one of the softer and more breathable ones on the market. All in all, the AF FIE kit is the best deal I know of for a no frills bargain priced set of FIE gear.
