Does this mean you know where one of the weights I am looking for is?

Fortunately, Telk was there (fluke of fate), and he remembered. From that moment on, the team members present thought he was really really smart. (Silly them!) |

| Not gonna be helpful to Gary, but
Indeed the Absolute folks have a copy of the weight Gary is talking about. The 500 gm part has a pointy shape, and it fits into the 250 gm side very tightly, so tightly you can hear the air move in/out. It's a very elegant and clever design. The latest production model from AF is a very good rendition of the original.
Gary's combo weight is ribbed and drilled, and filled with bullet cartridges. It looks like the cylinder of a revolver. I have one, and it's slick. Swordmasters sells them.
Either of these two is the thing to have, because it does all three jobs for 750 gm weight in your tool box. The trick to working USFA tournaments these days is keeping your box under 50 lbs so as to not incur excess weight baggage charges, which USFA doesn't like to pay. Oh, btw, I asked. No, the TSA guys DO NOT want to see a 750 gram hunk of metal in carry on.
You can also get a post with a pointy end from yeoldearmorer which will slide into the hole in any foil weight to use as a lame test weight. I have one, but the machining is pretty rough, so I don't end up using it much. It makes a great part to keep in my kit, because if I need a spare lame test, I can make one up with the post and any foil weight around. |

As I stated above, I collect weights. When Dan D called me and told me Amanda was making a copy, I called Gary at AF and told him to save me one. He gave it to me at Sum Nat's. Still want the orginal though to add to collection. Quote:

I make a collectors weight for Scott that has the shells on the top and the bullets (9mm) on the bottom. I invest about 9 hours of drilling/cutting/leading/weighting for each weight to get perfect.
If you want one, get with Scott. Currently I have 10 of them that I am working on right now.
The weight you have is a great weight.
