We could discuss how tired we are all at the end of the neverending season.

How about "Random Questions that Parent Members Might Know the Answer To?"

For example: Hi Mo! Although I already asked this question on the armourer's forum, you could probably tell us (mainly me! ) how the sizing runs for the wireless sabre shirts?

    Random but useful!

And would you recommend StM or Allstar (if your kid has a preference)

    I just realized a "Q & A" foum already exists - silly me!

They are sized just like a regular tshirt. I think your fencer would wear either a small (most likely) or a medium. They should fit closely but not anything close to tight.
    The brands are the same.

I know the feeling. We have been to Turkey and Klagenfurt. We leave for Viet Nam on Wednesday and go straight to China. After that we are off to Havana and then Las Vegas.
There is no time left between the meets. They are on consecutive weekends.
I have been dealing with some sort of sickness in my pond that has been making some of my fish lose their fins. It is some weird thing. It seems to be under control now though. Hopefully the hub and son can make sure they stay well.
Summer Nationals is where I wanna be. On the beach, well actually in a chair by the pool drinking margaritas!!

Do you think the schedule will be as insane for the rest of the qualifying year or will there be breaks?

That is truly an exhausting schedule...and the worst part is you probably don't even get to sightsee in any of the countries 'cause you have to move on so quickly. We've just gotten through SATs, finals & AP exams so it's been pretty stressful - especially as the kid has had to take a break from fencing (which she loves) to study (which, let's just say, she's not crazy about). Now we have a few weeks to relax as she attempts to get back into shape before Vegas. I seriously don't know how you guys do it - the jet lag alone must be killer! But if all goes according to my kid's plan we will be finding out what it's like in the next few years...

Thanks for the wireless shirt info and all the best on your "world tour"

The qualifying year is from April 1, 2007 until March 31, 2008.
The next four meets are the last of the season and qualify fencers for the World Championships. That is an important meet to make because it has triple points.
It all boils down to points. There are zones and the points from those Zones all count seperately. The race is intense. It all depends on how they do. The placement in the US for National points is also important because those are what decide the national team. Summer Nationals are important for National points. You have to have a few.
This year there was the Grand Prix in Budapest, London and Orleans, Foggia and Algeirs that happened before the April date.
I think Foggia is the last of the qualifying events. If a person is in the top eight of the FIE Standings they go to the Os. If the team is in the top 4 the top three members of the team go (which is where National standings come in) and the alternate goes too but is not considered part of the team unless they are needed.
This information is how I understand it. It could be correct or incorrect.

Reading that hurt my head. I just got my mind wrapped around how things are done for national points in the US....
