| Post New Year's Blues People:
I hope your New Year's Eve was better than mine. My roommate and I threw a party which was pretty well attended. Man, I got plastered. Never play drinking games! Never, ever! I'm not even sure of exactly what I did (there's a three hour window where I don't recall anyhting at all).
My head hurts.
But I do vividly remember a really nice girl (a friend of a friend of a friend of a friend) who got word that I'm a fencer and wanted to know more about it. Showed her my weapons and fencing books/magazines. Explained to her how the circuitry of a foil and epee work, the rule of right of way, history of fencing, and some tournament stories. She was all ears and smiled a lot during my story telling (and what a great smile it is, let me tell you). Must've spent a good two hours with her. I better get with my friend's friend's friend. In all the "host-playing" I failed to get her number when she left. This one seems like a winner.
Oh, for those of you wondering, I started playing drinking games way after she left the party -- so I KNOW that I didn't do anything I'd regret.
But besides the fond memory of this sweet mysterious girl, my head is still hurting... hmmm, where did I put that bottle of aspirin?
Later, fencing folk!
Rick. |

| Ahhh! She may have one now, but how long will it last? How serious is it if you spent 2 HOURS with her on New Year's eve and he never surfaced, or was he even at the party? Hmmmmmm? Hope springs eternal! Good luck (glad the head's better)

| Mergs: Man, just because she spends two hours with someone doesn't mean she's got probs with her BF. She could very well be interested in fencing...and so she smiles, BIG whoop.
Just because a woman gives a person attention does not mean she wants to date them. Men suck when they scheme.
[Rick, don't be bothered by my post...you KNOW how *I* am. Sorry that it didn't work out. Also, if the chick WAS flirting with you, it's a good indication of what she would be doing behind YOUR back if the two of you were dating. ] |

| Scarlet:
Thanks for the post... it's good having a member of the 'enemy' watching my back (LOL).
But seriously, you know me... as soon as I see that somebody is in a relationship, I'm Mr. Hands-Off. I'm pretty stern with that principle (almost bedrock) no matter what condition the relationship may appear to be in.
Hence the 'Indiana Jones' theme with the 'SEARCH CONTINUES' sentiment. |

| Call me a dog if you want, but I'm from the "No ring, No foul" school.

| The no ring, no foul school? Oh yeah, took a class there once. It was called 'Emotional Baggage 101'. |

| Not really. Your never going to meet someone that hasn't been in a relationship before or doesn't have any loose ends. Emotional baggage is just life experience, it's no biggie. Remember, she had a boyfriend before her current one, and she's doing ok, isn't she? No Ring, No Foul. If there's a ring, no that's a different story, unless your not exactly looking for a relationship....hee hee

| Well of course people are going to be in previous relationships...what I meant was, if they are still IN a relationship and are looking over the fence, it usually indicates they are always looking over the fence. Ring or NO ring...trust me, there are men who don't care either way...and same with women.

| Wow... I was just sharing a pretty neat experience I had over new year's eve. One that eventually went south, that is.
Now it's turned into a debate about men, women rings, fences, and schools of thought.
Funny how these things happen. |

| I thought it was a debate when people heavily disagree?
Perhaps we should debate on what constitutes a debate? |
