another armourer question

I am getting all my French foil points changed to German and I understand that the tips and screws are not compatible. But what about the springs. Can I make adjustments to the French foil springs to make them work in the German points? Or do they work as they are?

Hi KRO

If you are talking about epee, the point will work as well as the spring, the screws will do in a pinch but I dont recommend it. Foil is just a bugger. Keep it all from the same maker.

There really isn't anything compatible between French and German foil points. Get some new spares (springs, screws) and sell or give your old springs to your club or someone who uses French points.
