We got 8 inches here just north of Toronto but that's nothing. My folks live in Wasaga Beach, south side of Georgian Bay. They received 4 feet of lake effect snow! My mother couldn't open the front door. It took my father 3 hours to snowblower the driveway from the rollup garage doors to the street!

In Arizona it's been in the 70s all week. We groan about how cold it is early in the morning when we have to go to work and it's only mid-40s.

You don't have to go all the way to the southern hemisphere for warm weather!

The temp here hasn't risen above freezing for a week. Snow is still on the ground. And they turn the heaters off at our club location (which is in a really old drafty building and not too warm to start) at 6pm sharp. I was wearing my big winter coat on top of all of my fencing gear between bouts. I practiced fleches to stay warm until my legs cramped up and I can hardly walk today. It's not been a good week.

    yeah rick, thats the way!!!
I myself have no car (living in D.C. it is mostly not needed), however I have exprienced my bike lock freezing shut about 4-5 times. I am waiting for the time I can't get it back open! It is cold and windy here, and the weather guy keeps saying it will snow - - - but none yet. I am hoping I get to go to practice anyway. Club is closed for the holidays (BAH HUMBUG!!) so I have to find another place to fence that I can get to in the cold and the wind.
    Good day
may your car doors remain openable and my chain never freeze.

Zelda, Summer is nice and all, but the last week we had 30-38 degrees Celsius heat, and for fencing, this is not good. It was about 8 o'clock at night, and we were sweating just from doing a light warm up (I'm warm enough all ready thank you!). Then we put on our electric foil gear . . . What I'd give for a front zip jacket . . .

    A little snow would be nice . . . i've only seen it here once . .

If you want snow, you can have some of ours! Please! 12"+2"+4"+5"+2"=25" Over the past two weeks and it hasn't risen above freezing the entire time, so no melt off for us. Today I had to give my roommate a lift 'cause his car wouldn't start. I don't blame it, is was -12(F) degrees out! Can I have your adress so I can stuff myself in a box and mail myself to you?

That song "I'm dreaming of a white Christmas . ." Here, it is just a dream. In fact, the last time it snowed was in June and EVERYONE was out in the snow and playing with it and making snow/dirt men . . I was unfortunate enough to walk for half and hour in the snow. However, it was to get to fencing, so it's not that bad . .

still, I think you would be complaining when you got here that it was too hot

flesche where are you? I've fenced in 35C heat in a tin shed, its not fun, but its fencing, and thats all that matter, admitting my coach is paronid about us getting enough liquid, but anyhow.

I'm in the ACT . . hot in summer, cold in winter, and no real inbetweens . . . nice place though.

I don't really care about the temperature, I just complain about it because I can. I end up ignoring the heat, and then suddenly I'm cooking!

If it's one thing I'm known for here, it's fencing, fencing and more fencing . . luckily my friends fence as well, so they don't mind as much when I talk about it constantly
