Array Senior Pacific Coast Championship Deadline On the entry form it says: "Entries must be postmarked by April 28, 2007."
However, the So. Cal. website says: "Entry Deadline: must be postmarked by 27-April-2007" and the PCCs website says "The registration fee is tripled for entries between April 28 and May 9."
I already sent in my entry form... but I know some who hasn't yet. Is the deadline today or tomorrow? Which date will they go by? A synonym is a word you use when you can't spell the word you first thought of. -
Go with what's on the reg form "postmarked by the 28th". -

Array procrastination is my friend... my entry form has been completed for a week, but I just mailed it today... just counldn't be bothered to buy an envelope. i would think that considering there is no online registration, they cannot assume people would be referencing any material other than the entry form. i would be very surprised if they enforced the 27th cutoff. "That was so close to being good!" "Name a shrub after me -- something prickly and hard to eradicate" -
Thankfully I remmembered and ran off to mailed out my entry today so that it could be postmarked the 27th to be safe. I'm pretty sure that our wonderful section office will err on the side acceptance though. -

Array It better be the 28th because I didnt to mail it today thinking that I have until tomorrow to do it.

Array Foil There doesn't appear to be very many foil fencers on the confirmed list. Does anybody know why? -

Array Probably cause most people waited till the last minute to send in their registration... like me.

Some of turnout issue is where nationals are at. Go to the well until the well is dry. When the well is dry find a new well. -

The change in qualifying rules for Div II, may also mean that C fencers may not want to go all the way to Miami for one maybe two events, so why bother going to Las Vegas to qualify for Div IA. There aren't Div I and Sr. team events at Summer Nationals which means even fewer events for some.
As for Juniors/U19, it is the week between AP exams.
Let's not forget Mother's Day weekend. (And people wait to the last minute to register.)

Array I know we aren't going because the UC has their writing placement test that Saturday. -

Senior Team Men's Epee is scheduled for July 2nd. Perhaps you mean "There isn't a Div I Team event as well"? -

Unless recently corrected the handbook says Open and Jr. team events, rather than Senior/U19, either way there are now only two team events instead of three. The senior/open team events seem to be scheduled closer to the Div I events. In prior years, the Senior team events were scheduled closer to the Veteran's events. So to fly all the way to Miami from the West Coast or Hawaii for one maybe two events is not worth it for some fencers. Therefore they may not want to go to Las Vegas either.
