I wish I could remember where I heard that "black and blue" line. It might have been in Newfoundland. Or maybe a movie I wonder if the Newfoundland restaurant in Calgary is still there?

    Newfie accross the hall...

I've got a newfie working accross the hall from me right now. Everyone keeps trying to get him to say "Car" and "Roof". Some people think it sounds similar to a USA NE coast accent, but they definitely have some unique slang terms...

Should the word "Gang" be at the start of that phrase?

    LOL.... no.

Although.... we could start a new saying that has nothing to do with the dirty thoughts floating through your Scottish little mind.

I bet you can't. And I'm not little. Research shows that it's on the good side of average....

Anyway, I'll keep it clean for a change and translate "Bang-on" as meaning that something is completely correct.

And Gang Bang-On would be a bunch of people who have it correct. That was wayyyy to easy for you as I think it's origins is in British slang.

How about telling me what "Mexican Solder" is?

Yeah, it's pretty common over here, though I think less so in the last few years.

    "Mexican solder"

    Lemme think.....

Is it the trail of sick running from a guys chin to the ground after too many tequilas?

Ah, gotcha now. Is that cos of the fact it's cheap and often does a better job than the more expensive American folk? Or because the people often seen using it smell of alcohol and have dodgy 'taches?

Just as well it was something like that, cos the only other thing I had in mind cannot be repeated. Ever.

I'm not sure why to tell you the truth.

When I heard the term, it made sense... Mexico is viewed as a poorer country. They will tend to repair or cobbled something together more so, than someone who was affluent.

Duct tape is a quick, strong fix... just not pretty.
