    X-mas came early this year...

    Hi!

I got an email - the sender told me that he groin strap of his jacket had gotten pale pink in the wash, so he decided against selling it on the net, and instead giving it to my club. Mind you, this is a guy who has no connection to our club at all, just happens to be an ex-fencer (the rest of life kicked in), who lives in our county.

So, what did he decide to give to us?
    1 Allstar FIE jacket
    1 Allstar FIE plastron
1 Allstar FIE pair of pants
    1 Allstar FIE (1600N) mask
    3 pistol-grip epees
    1 epee body cord
    1 glove
1 long bag to hold it all
And all in near mint condition!

Let´s hear it, good netizens of f.net: A big hand for our donor, Mr. Welin!

    Have a nice time!

    Hooray for ex-fencers!

I can understand that's a welcome gift for sure for a club of your size.
(It would be to mine too, actually.)

    Ohhhhh.

It took me a minute or three (and several clicks) before I caught that....

It looks to me like he had to throw in a bunch of good stuff just to get rid of those epees. He probably already tried leaving those things out by the curb and got some nasty notes from the garbagemen. Something along the lines of "even WE have our standards!" I'd imgine.

You -- incorrectly -- assume he would be silly enough to deal with foils in the first place...
