Array It was my first Div I this weekend too. I didn't feel unwelcomed at all. Everyone were just much more competitive. And there was no talking to everyone else in my pool going, "hey, where are you from? how long have you been fencing? good luck!" A synonym is a word you use when you can't spell the word you first thought of. -

Yeah, I realized that after reading your blog entry.
What the heck happened? I gave him a hard time, old man that I am, and you're better than me... Use the Shift key, people! Keyboard manufacturers everywhere are ineffably saddened when you ignore what they made just for you! -

I was pulling for him to win cuz I fence him plenty, being from NJ, and felt confident in my ability to beat him. In retrospect, I'd rather have taken my chances with you, even though I'd be starting from scratch. I'm just wary of veterans, they tend to be crafty... -

While I have never felt welcomed at a Div I (but that doesn't bother me), what I do find surprising are the smiles and pats that I get from those who are old enough to have an ache or pain, and in this group I include parents and not a few refs, who clearly enjoy this old person taking on 'the youth'... and somehow I ended up with senior points doing it!
