Array As do mine.
We're once again reminded that life is much too short. -

Array Absolutely horrible.
My condolences to the friends, family, and loved ones of those who lost their lives. -

Array That's about as low as you can get.
Is there anything more cowardly than killing and wounding innocent people, who haven't the means or opportunity to defend themselves?
And then taking the easy way out by killing oneself so you don't have to face the consequences?
I can't go further into my feelings on the matter, because it involves very non-professional language. The preceding post brought to you by Rabid Monk (TM). Rabid Monk: informative, irreverent, interesting, random and downright odd posts, done with pride since 1983. -

Array This was the most terrible thing I'd heard about in a long time. I work at a large university campus myself, and just imagining what to do after the initial attack boggles my mind. Just contemplate the logistics of trying to warn thousands of people, scattered all over scores of buildings and parking lots, many of whom aren't at their computers or near a phone.
Besides praying for the victims and their families, let's please spare a thought for V Tech President Steger. He's going to be second-guessing himself for the rest of his life.

After this disgusting act, I just want to throw up. I'm not here to talk about gun control, politics, or should'ves / would'ves / could'ves -- I'm just sadden about the senseless loss of people.
As I am interested in what happened, I really really hope that the media doesn't pounce on this community. I think I'm going to be wrong on this. Am I the only one that thinks that people need time to reflect on this and on their own lives and that we don't need CNN (or any other news stations) to help us?
I stopped watching the news and stopped the internet searching on this subject.
Peace to all. -

Array My prayers also go out to all of those who were affected by this tragedy, hopefully none of us will ever have to be involved in anything like this.
And from what I've heard, all of this happened because some guy got mad with his ex-girl friend... ...I think that's the saddest excuse to go on a killing rampage.
~Lemur If you don't stand behind our troops, please feel free to stand in front of them. Trust me, they'll appreciate it. -

Array This is just indescribable.
I cannot imagine what would drive someone to do this. How anyone could even think of killing one person is beyond me. I hope he is happy knowing he's ended the lives of 32 vibrant, beautiful people; and that he's destroyed families and broken apart friends. Each of the victims had whole lives of their own, and now they can't live to see how it all folds out.
My thoughts go out to everyone who has been affected by this tragedy. -

Array I'd like to ask forum members to show a little decency and keep the politics in the thread in the Politics sub-folder.
My sympathies go to the students and families out there. -

Array As do mine. It's especially tragic when people are cut down in the prime of their lives.
My condolences and sympathies go to the families and friends of both the survivors and the victims. May they hold each other tight and remember the bright light of life that each held and not get swallowed by despair and anger.
James. If it's stupid, but it works, it's not stupid. -

Array Time magazine, of course, devoted much of the current issue to this tragic story. One article pointed out that, when we try to picture what it must have been like, we all imagine ourselves as a bystander or one of the potential victims. No-one even wants to imagine himself in the tortured and troubled mind of the shooter.
I'm not for a moment excusing what he did, but trying to put myself in his shoes is like standing on the brink of Hell. "Never give in, never give in, never, never, never, never . . . never give in except to convictions of honour and good sense." Churchill, 1941 Similar Threads -
