Array Sunday's weather is a bit wet. Walking back from the Convention Center to the hotel on Collins, I had to wade through about 5-8 inches of water on the streets and sidewalks. The hotel was almost an island surrounded by flooded waters, so there were no alternate routes the get there without completely soaking the shoes and socks. Those who are at the venue reading this might consider going barefoot. Flip-flops would be best. -

I've heard of fencing in pools...

Water drains off quickly but when it rains it really comes down hard.

Array Can someone who's already there tell me: Are there any dedicated armorers there with booths? I've got an epee that needs rewiring and it'd be great to get it done while I was there.
Thanks. -

Thanks. I've seen plenty of work being done at vendor booths. -

Array Well, that cab info is completely useless. There are plenty of cabs at the airport. It's a flat rate of $32 to the convention center. Probably a bit less to the east side of the bay.
As for cabs in town. Miami is comparable to NY in terms of numbers of cabs and their availability. I don't think I have to wait more than 30 seconds for a cab, when I needed one. -

Thanks. Probably too late for you, but yes.
Generally, Swordmasters is at EVERY USFA event: all NACs, JOs and SNs.
They are there for repairs. Sometimes they pay to be a vendor as well, but they have a contract with the USFA that they will provide repair services at every event.
In addition, all vendors will do some kind of repairs for their customers. At SNs, American Fencers was doing lots of repair work for anyone, but preferred not to get into blade rewires. Swordmasters had 3-4 people working full time on repairs of all kinds. -

Array I appreciate the info. I did go ahead and bring my wonky blade and got it fixed at Swordmasters today. It's good to know that they'll always be around at national events when I need them. Similar Threads -
