Array Step It Up 2007 http://stepitup2007.org/
Is anyone planning on attending an event in their area?
Do you think that an 80% reduction in carbon emissions by 2050 is feasible?
Do you think that congress will respond?
Or do you think that our society is too set in its consumption habits to change? Mess with my cows and I'll break your knees U.S. OUT OF VERMONT More Cowbell -

Or do you think that our society is too set in its consumption habits to change? No. Seems like a waste of time. Environmental events tend to be little more than preaching the gospel to the converted -- argument is not tolerated, and only believers show up anyway. Echo-chamber stuff does not advance change, it only serves to make the believers feel good. If your purpose is to change minds, there are more effective things to do.
Sure. Several well-placed high-megaton nuclear detonations should do the trick nicely. All that nasty organic respiration could be reduced dramatically.
Should it? I'm not sure I agree with the presumption inherent in that question.
Of course not. Our consumption habits have been in a constant state of change for about 250 years. You've asked the wrong question. Freedom of speech makes it easier to spot the idiots. -

Array the only way to get change in the US is to make it too expensive or show a profit. people will not use public transport or electric vehicles. until it gets too expensive / pain in the ass to do anything else, or someone can find a way to make alternative energy "sexy". but every one has an agenda. no wind farms they kill birds, no nukes, I don't wanna glow, no more damns, we're destroying the ecosystem. Society will change when it NEEDS to. unfortunately that is when people are starving, dying, and the current system has collapsed. Then the survivors will pick up the pieces and hopefully build a better mousetrap. Similar Threads -
