    Fencing pants?

I saw these advertised some time back on Triplette's web site - full length white fencing pants made of stretch material complete with the high waist, suspenders, etc. Are these legal in USFA competitions?

Theres a few of key questions you can ask yourself:

    1) Are they constructed of "robust material" without holds, tears or gathers to catch a blade?

    2) Is there an overlap of 10 cm between the pants and the jacket?

    3) Are they constructed with some sort of gathering at the bottom (ties, snaps, Velcro, elastic)?
That's it, I'm done with the discussion forums on F.net. It's had its uses, but the ideologues, ranters, and "experts" have drowned too many of the conversations. I'm changing my password to something random and never logging in again.

My youngest fencer son saw someone wearing these at an SYC and said:
"And some people think that knickers look funny"
" ... or spend fifty years learning to begin to learn to beat your adversary at fencing. After that you can start on mathematics, until it is time to learn to plough.” White, T.H. The Once and Future King (emphasis added)

I had a teammate who fenced in these at USFA competitions so I'm assuming they are legal. The benefit in his case was that he had a big knee brace contraption which went well past his knee so convential knickers would not fit.
