Timo- I recommend starting with foil, as thats what they'll probably have you do in the beginners class. While I myself switched to sabre after a year of foil, I'm glad I learned the basics on foil, it makes the switch to Sabre that much easier.

And sabreurs are a great bunch. You'll find many great friends among us if you choose to join our side. Epee is mearly a figment of your imagination.

A sabrist has feelings. They can only love one another, and never is there any hate between any two sabrists. They spend their time in the bliss of my empire, where all is free and good and wonderful. Their fencing style is derived from a sort of haka, to keep the other weapons away from their well known secret. They practice against each other in order to keep their skills sharp in the event that an intruder should come near. They live off the best of life. An epeeist plays in the mud with the other swine, and fills his protruding belly with scraps from that master's table. They have no sense of pride, or accomplishment, or even love. Join us in our heaven on earth and you will not be sorry! *kicks maple again to shut him up* Excuse him. He's getting a bit out of hand.
