The funny thing is...the whole repeated thread poll...is repeated to death...It stopped being funny the first time. I mean the time before the first time. It really never amused me at all.

    Search function people...search function...

Yes, search function - heard it to death. The problem with relying on the search function is that it often gets you outdated information. How many people fence foil, epee, and sabre? Search will tell me what it was two years ago amongst the members at that time. But what is it now?

This isn't how many people fence (insert weapon here). This isn't for any new information. It's a joke thread. I'm just commenting that its been more than slightly overdone.

Please excuse my polls which I have posted. I'm sorry for any inconvenience which I have caused you or anyone else. I did not mean for any controversy over the polls which I had posted. Again, excuse my recent polls.

Don't take it so hard. Asking questions is good. Sometimes the search function is hard to use unless you have already read/know the thread you are looking for. Its just that after you have been on the boards a while, the vast majority of posts seem like deja vu all over again and it feels like you are constantly repeating the same advice/position every few months. The people that mind will either not post or say something snarky. The rest of us are usually pretty willing to help out. So don't take us curmudgeonly old timers too serious. But also play with the search function!

Please please dont take it hard....

Im known for being a sarcastic a$%.....

I actually quit smoking for 3 months and walked into the house and my wife hit me with a pack and told me to start back as my sarcasm filter didnt exsist and EVERYTHING I said was snarky and smarta#$ and if I didnt she was gonna kill me in my sleep...if you know my wife....you know she could...lol..

Phaeton caught that I was being sarcastic...cause as he said this poll has been done to death...

Im always available when I can help so please look past the sarcasm and see the underlying joke..and dont hesistate to ask if ya run a search and the return date on the post is older...

I agree with CvilleFencer, ask away and ignore the cranky folks. Yes the same questions get asked over and over... so what? No one is forcing anyone to go to threads they don't want to.

Not only is this a topic done to death - about a some things that people have done to death - but it is in the wrong area.

Off to suggestions with you ...

    At your peril, madam!

    starting a new thread

Starting a new thread, even about old topics, starts a new discussion--isn't that what this board is all about?

At least some of us want the rating system to change. The only way to promote that is to bring it up, again and again, if necessary, until something is done, or the whole idea is killed by the USFA.

At least you can bring it up over and over until the rest of us lynch you with a floor cord and leave your bar sinstered mask on a spike outside of NACs with a plaque reading "Sic Semper Tyrannis et Numerators" as a warning to others.

Why do I have the sinking feeling Inq is going to be the only person that gets all of that joke...

I will go with Fencergrl on this. Partly because after reading her journal and seeing pics I find she has "nice wheels" ( briefly reverts to the vernacular of his youth) and partly because she is right.

I do not post often, but read this thing everyday. If I see a poll that has "Pistol grips or French" in the title, I just pass it by. However, as new people come into fencing and this forum, they will not have read that as many times as we have.

If someone is interested in posted subject, let them be. Though I did like the mask on a spike as a warning to others.
